What Is Intraocular Pressure?
Intraocular pressure (IOP) is the pressure inside the eye. Maintaining a healthy eye pressure is important for your overall eye health. Measuring IOP helps our specialists assess your eyes as part of the pre-LASIK evaluation.
IOP refers to the fluid pressure inside the eye.

Measuring Your Eye Pressure
Your eye pressure is measured using an ophthalmic pressure-measuring instrument (tonometer). The test is quick, comfortable and non-invasive. The result is recorded in mmHg and reviewed by our specialist as part of your overall eye evaluation.

Your IOP Reading
The measured eye pressure is assessed together with your overall eye examination to understand your complete eye health before proceeding with LASIK

What If Your IOP Is Above 20 mmHg?
If the measured IOP is above 20 mmHg, further evaluation may be needed to rule out glaucoma before proceeding with LASIK.
Your Eye Pressure Is Carefully Assessed
IOP is considered as part of your overall eye evaluation before LASIK. If further assessment is needed, we address it before moving forward.
